MIDDELBEEK FENDER
The new fender described aims at preventing buckling of the disk wall by strengthening it by using radially positioned steel bars or strips inserted in the rubber or vulcanized into the rubber material. These strengthening elements will prevent buckling or bending of the disk wall without preventing deformation of the rubber in circumferential direction, necessary to obtain the spring action. Such a reinforced coned annular disk spring fender will show optimum elastic properties to absorb high mooring energies combined with low reaction forces on pier and ship.
