FHWA PUBLISHES STUDY ON EUROPEAN TRAFFIC CONTROL PRACTICES

A team of 10 American traffic engineers traveled to France, Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom in May 1998 as part of the Federal Highway Administration's International Technology Exchange Program. The team's report recommends devices and practices, such as specific freeway pavement markings, variable speed control, and intelligent speed adaption for further study for use in the United States.
