TRAFFIC INFORMATION WITH 5.8GHZ DSRC SYSTEMS: FIRST RESULTS OF THE AIDA TEST TRIAL
The aim of this paper is to present results of the first part of a field trial characterized by an ergonomic evaluation of on board road information systems. 40 subjects participated in tests. The objective was to evaluate the following aspects: (1) relevance and helpfulness of 'AIDA' messages for drivers; (2) numeric values related to behaviour indicators (e.g. speed control, trajectory control); (3) driving errors; and (4) subjective satisfaction and acceptance of 'AIDA' system. These preliminary results cover objective data such as driver's visual strategies as well as subjective data such as workload scale rating and usability questionnaires. In the other hand, this paper describes briefly preliminary tests related to the communications between the terminal, roadside beacon and 'AIDA' server. For the covering abstract see IRRD E102946.
