EUROSCOPE: DYNAMIC PARKING INFORMATION VIA DAB (DIGITAL AUDIO BROADCASTING)

This paper focuses on the development of the Dynamic Parking Information Service via DAB developed for the city of Cologne in the European Project EUROSCOPE. The whole service is running automatically in a system architecture with existing and new components. This service is designed in consideration of the existing parking guidance system (PLS) and the requirements of a user friendly HMI (Human Machine Interface). For broadcasting the service DAB has been selected because of high data capacity and the capability to transmit multimedia objects. The following shows the further development of DAB referring to services and the service itself. The adaptation of the Cologne service for other cities is easy.
