EXPERIMENTAL VERIFICATION OF TRAVEL-TIME PREDICTION METHOD
In an Intelligent Transport System (ITS), the provision of traffic information especially for the implementation of a Dynamic Route Guidance System (DRGS) is an important theme. What is most needed for the implementation of this system is enhancing the accuracy of predicted travel times calculated based on the measurement of current travel times. In this paper, a newly developed travel-time prediction method is proposed and the results of the analysis of the travel-time data calculated by the proposed method in comparison with the data measured in the field is reported, which was found to be very favourable.
