5.8GHZ ELECTRONIC TOLL COLLECTION SYSTEMS ANTENNAS
Throughout the operation of Electronic Toll Collection systems (hereinafter, ETC), Roadside Equipment (hereinafter, RSE) are required to provide a radiation pattern which can accurately pinpoint the designated communication area. The authors have completed development of a prototype of such an antenna. Microstrip patches were attached in rows, at appropriate intervals based on excitation distribution. We gained the best values respectively for the number of microstrip patches, the intervals and the excitation distribution. Throughout this process, We confirmed that the prototype could demonstrate the required radiation pattern. According to the level of received power distribution, we confirmed that the prototype could precisely direct a desirable communication area. The prototype efficiently produced a radiated pattern over the designated communication areas, without generating wave leakage. For the covering abstract see IRRD E102946.
