A LITERATURE REVIEW : THE CONTENT CHARACTERISTICS OF EFFECTIVE VMS
This report presents a literature review on the effectiveness of variable message signs (VMS). Focus was on the content characteristics of effective VMS. It was found that clear and specific VMS that display weather information, route guidance and speed recommendations have the greatest effects on drivers.
