AUTOMATIC RECOGNITION OF CAR LICENSE PLATES USING COLOR IMAGE PROCESSING

In this paper, the authors propose a method for extracting the region in a license plate that is based on color image segmentation. The method is robust in dealing with deformation of car images . Test results show that the proposed method yields a high extraction rate.
