BEHAVIOR OF DENSE SAND UNDER MONOTONIC AND CYCLIC LOADING
The soil beneath structures with cyclic loading will experience a complex stress situation with various stress paths, combinations of average and cyclic shear stresses and drainage conditions. This paper presents results of monotonic and cyclic triaxial and DSS (direct simple shear) tests on very dense sand. The results show the importance to model these conditions correctly in the laboratory to achieve realistic soil parameters from laboratory tests.
