TESTS ON VARIABLE TRAFFIC SIGNS
ESSAI DE PUNNEAUX DE SIGNALISATION VARIABLE
Because of the increasing use of variable traffic signs, the variety of models proposed and the lack of knowledge of the technical performance of the equipment offered, the IRT carried out exhaustive tests on all equipment available on the European market. Two computers were used, one for endurance tests, the other for temperature tests. A first series of temperature and endurance tests were conducted on five signs and were completed in January 1974. This report gives the results of the tests and details of the two computers. /TRRL/
