CHANGES AND FUTURE TRENDS IN THE NATIONAL DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS (NDS) FOR WOOD CONSTRUCTION AND LOAD AND FACTOR RESISTANCE DESIGN (LRFD) SPECIFICATIONS
This paper explores the latest changes to both the National Design Specifications (NDS) for Wood Construction and the Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) Manual for Engineered Wood Construction. Also included is an examination of allowable stress design (ASD) as provided in the NDS compared to LRFD. Finally, a discussion of future trends for both methodologies is provided.
