REPORT OF THE SECOND ASIA-PACIFIC ITS SEMINAR

ITS applications in the Asia-Pacific region are at various stages of deployment - from the advanced development of technologies and applications through to the developing countries identification of their needs. This region is faced with many challenges that ITS can address. The Second Asia-Pacific ITS Seminar, held in Caims, Australia in July this year, explored the topics of: - Road Safety in Mixed Traffic Situations; - Urban Congestion; and - public Transport and Traveller Information. As an outcome of this Seminar this session will report on the major findings within the region and the future directions for ITS deployment in the region.
