MICHI-NO-EKI INFORMATION SYSTEM : FIELD EXPERIMENT FOR RURAL INFORMATICS IN CAR SOCIETY

This paper describes the Michi-no-Eki information system that offers a high speed route guidance system using a digital map. The networked system, designed for use in rural settings, offers a three-layer client/server system with Intranet capabilities.
