RECOGNITION OF AUTOMOBILES BY ANALYZING THE BRIGHTNESS DISTRIBUTION OF TV IMAGE
This paper presents a method of recognizing vehicles by analyzing television images of traffic flow for their brightness distribution. The brightness distribution of the road is found to be uniform instead of an illuminant change. It can be analyzed by a simple algorithm rating its standard deviation, thus making real time measurement possible.
