ITS OPTICAL FIBER CABLE STANDARDS : THE JOB HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE
The purpose of this paper is to inform the ITS (intelligent transportation systems) community of the major optical fiber ANSI (American National Standards Institute) accredited standards. In addition, this paper will describe effective techniques to developing sound specifications for ITS optical network components. What cable designs requirements are needed? What fiber requirements should be used? Sound, informed answers to these and other questions in a system specification will be the key to a successful ITS optical fiber network
