COMPARATIVE STUDY OF FREEWAY INCIDENT DETECTION ALGORITHMS USING REAL-LIFE INCIDENT DATA
This paper studies the relationship between freeway incident management systems and incident detection data. It compares the performance of three rule-based algorithms and an artificial neural network (ANN) model using real life incident data from the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressways. The algorithms and ANN model are also calibrated and evaluated on separate field data.
