PREDICTION OF TRAVEL TIME ON ARTERIAL ROADS USING VEHICLE DETECTOR INFORMATION

This paper describes a new method of predicting travel time in real time which uses data that is collected from vehicle detectors in an automatic vehicle identification (AVI) environment. An autoregressive model is used to approximate velocity, thus leading to an estimation of travel time.
