THE TECHNOLOGIES, ECONOMICS, AND PSYCHOLOGY OF COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER FATIGUE MANAGEMENT
In the coming decade technology will revolutionize commercial motor vehicle driver fatigue management. Three major categories of fatigue management technology are sleep history monitoring, fitness-for-duty testing, and continuous in-vehicle driver monitoring. In-vehicle driver monitoring will likely have the greatest eventual impact on fatigue management because it will provide direct and continuous safety performance measurement and feedback.
