EVALUATION OF AHS THROUGHPUT USING SMARTCAP
This paper presents a method for analyzing automated highway throughput for Automated Highway Systems (AHS) designs, including those with traffic platooning. It presents simulation results that show that increased information leads to higher throughput, and that a platooning design will have higher throughput than any individual vehicle design.
