OLYMPICS GOLD FOR INFRA-RED

This article reports on the performance of different traffic management techniques that were used at the Nagano Winter Olympics in Japan. The performance of traffic signal priority systems, fleet management and location systems, and traveler information systems are briefly reviewed. The article also discusses how infrared beacons fared in heavy snow conditions.
