SAFETY HELMET PERFORMANCE INVESTIGATION. VOLUME II
The objective of the project was to ascertain the capability of the best available helmets to meet the head injury criterion (HIC) proposed in the Motorcycle Helmet Notice of proposed rule making for Sept. 1974. Volume II reports on the evaluation of new motorcycle helmet headform sizes A, B, C and D. These data show that dimensions of the CRAGAR Prototype Size C headform are not within acceptable tolerances of the existing ANSI Z90.1 headform, and recommendations are made to require that these tolerances be met.
