COST OF SANITARY LANDFILL DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATION IN ILLINOIS

Illinois communities are served by both private-and-public owned sanitary landfills. This project included the study of both types of sites. While progress is being made in the conversion of solid waste to useful purposes such as material and energy resource recovery, the sanitary landfill is likely to be part of the solid waste management system for many years. Therefore, the information provided by this study should have lasting value.
