LESSONS LEARNED IN GETTING PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR WMATA IN-HOUSE DESIGN PROJECTS: CASE STUDIES OF FOUR PROJECTS
This paper discusses how to be effective in obtaining community participation and support in the development and design of transit system projects. With the example of three in-house designs and one design project with consultant support, it is shown how an engineering and architectural staff can respond to and accommodate community and customer requirements.
