SPEEDWALK: AN ACCELERATING MOVING WALKWAY
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has developed Accelerated Moving Walkway "Speed Walk" ("MAMW") to provide high pedestrian mobility to accommodate a heavy traffic for a comparatively short distance (150 to 1000 meters (492 - 3,280 ft)). This paper describes the system, important components and tests undertaken in the development.
