AESTHETIC HIGHWAY DESIGN: CONTROL OF THE ROADS INNER HARMONY
The research project described in this brief study considers highway geometric design and aesthetics. Fitness in landscape and alignment harmony have to be adapted to the drivers' dynamic perceptual ability. In computerised image processing, the road constructor will have a tool to: (1) control certain elements of the roads' inner harmony; and (2) select road sections where the alignment needs closer investigation.
