IMPROVEMENTS INCREASE ROAD SAFETY
This article describes needed improvements to a 2-mile section of U.S. 27 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The project involved widening, safety upgrades, and resurfacing of approximately 2 miles of roadway. The typical section was upgraded to current design standards by widening the existing facility to a four-lane section with two 12-foot curb lanes and two 22-foot inside lanes, for a total width of 46 feet. In addition, left-turn lanes were added at the five intersecting streets. A 5-foot wide sidewalk was planned along the entire project length on the east side and another on the west side from the park entrance to North Bend Road.
