THE RISKS OF MODERATE SPEEDING
A report conducted for the Australian Federal Office of Road Safety found that in urban areas, traveling just 5 km/h over the speed limit in a 60 km/h zone doubles the risk of involvement in a serious crash. The risk continues to double for every additional 5 km/h. These risk increases are directly comparable to those associated with alcohol.
