KL AIRPORT EXPRESS TO DO DOUBLE DUTY
A private consortium will design, build, operate, and maintain on a 30-year concession, Juala Lumpur's (Malaysia) new Express Rail Link with the international airport, which is expected to handle 16 million passengers annually. The 35-mi (56-km) line will do double duty as an express airport link and as a commuter train that will stop at three intermediate locations. The airport run is expected to generate approximately 80% of the anticipated revenue. Airline passengers will have the opportunity to check in baggage at the main rail station.
