DANISH CONCRETE PAVEMENT IN GOOD SHAPE AFTER 20 YEARS
Survey results published recently by the Danish Road Directorate note that a concrete pavement laid in 1976 to test whether new concrete technology could help avoid earlier durability problems, has held up well after 20 years. The 4-km test stretch was built in 1976 on the M2 motorway west of Koge, Denmark, to study durability and skid resistance. The pavement has now been in service for a period of more than 20 years without needing major repairs.
