SESSION 6. UTILISATION RATIONNELLE DE L'ENERGIE ET DES MATIERES PREMIERES
The author comes to the conclusion that it is possible to reduce energy consumption of motor vehicles. The following steps are proposed: coordination of fiscal policies as regards motor vehicles and fuel in member countries, possibility of applying a specific legislation following the American example, influence of regulations governing safety, emissions and lead content of petrol on fuel consumption, encouragement for manufacturers to produce vehicles using less fuel, and assistance in multidisciplinary investigations. /TRRL/
