These recommendations are presented under seven chapter headings as follows: (1) introduction; (2) topographic mapping, photogrammetry, photointerpretation, and remote sensing; (3) engineering geological investigations; (4) geophysical methods; (5) drilling and sampling borehole cameras and television; (6) trenches, shafts and galleries; (7) rock mechanics investigation tests. Each chapter includes a short description of the procedures involved, together with a table indicating the limits of application. /TRRL/
