ACTIVE POLLUTANTS CONTROL AND REMEDIATION OF CONTAMINATED SITES
CONTROLE DES POLLUANTS ACTIFS ET DEPOLLUTION DES SITES CONTAMINES
In recent years there has been increased awareness of the dangers to public health and safety from pollutants in the ground and the groundwater. Various technologies involving containment and/or physical, chemical and biological processes have been developed to control pollution and to remediate contaminated sites. Yet active pollutants control and the remediation of the contaminated ground by reducing the concentration of the contamination is an area that is still developing. This paper looks at some of the problems still to be overcome and solutions to be found for dealing with some of the more difficult contaminants. Some possible solution are described.
