DEEP MIXING WITH LIME-CEMENT COLUMNS

'DEEP MIXING' AVEC DES COLONNES CHAUX/CIMENT

Deep stabilization of soft soils with lime-cement columns has been used in Sweden since 1975. During the last 5 years, the use of the method has increased substantially and the method has become the most frequently used method in infrastructure projects. In Sweden, a comprehensive research program has been designed and shall be carried through in extensive cooperative projects. This research and development project began in 1996 and will run for 5 years. The Swedish Deep Stabilization Research Center coordinates all projects and activities for the benefit of both industry and society. An international conference on Dry Mix Methods for Deep Soil Stabilization will be held in Stockholm 13-15 October 1999.
