SOMETHING IN THE AIR -- AND IT'S TIME TO CLEAN IT UP
This article looks at the issue of air pollution from airports, and how they are being brought under many of the same regulatory requirements that have applied to more traditional industrial pollution sources. Among the chief concerns of airports are: (1) emissions and dispersion modeling systems (EDMS); (2) "De-minimis threshold" - the maximum amount of additional emissions allowed from a specific project; (3) construction emissions; (4) emissions "credits"; and (5) revenue diversion.
