ASPHALT PLANT SAFETY
Asphalt plants can be very dangerous places. Six case studies are presented that reveal that common sense and a rigid safety program are important factors in avoiding deadly plant-site accidents. Problems include poor training, operator error, management impatience, an operational burner with all its safety systems bypassed or totally eliminated, and a poorly maintained batch tower.
