STAYING SAFE THROUGH CRASHES
Because roadside safety structures must comply with stricter safety standards set forth in the National Cooperative Highway Research Program's Report 350, the Texas Transportation Institute tests a number of these devices each years. Six pictures are presented of a successful test involving an 8,000 kg (17,600 lb) truck and the Massachusetts S3-TL4 Steel Bridge Railing Mounted on Curb and Sidewalk.
