THE ECONOMICS OF LEISURE AND RECREATION

The book presents a comprehensive study of the economics of leisure and recreation activities and the implications for planning of this sector. A framework is developed for the analysis of the recreation sector covering consumer demand for activities, the implications for mobility and the transport system and, optimal location for leisure facilities and overall economic planning of future developments. A section of the book is devoted to data from surveys of travel behaviour while other sections cover the demand for leisure facilities and the prediction of future traffic flows.
