DICAF, A DISTRIBUTED ARCHITECTURE FOR INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION
This paper describes Dicaf, a distributed scalable architecture for Intelligent Transportation Systems using a continuous-function congestion measure system. Dicaf envisions a network of distributed independent traffic management centers that provide congestion-related and other information to on-board navigation systems in vehicles. The navigation system uses that information to enable drivers to avoid slower traffic and find a quicker route.
