This study presents an evaluation of Yosemite Area Traveler Information (YATI), an advanced traveler information system that provides information and advisories to travelers to the Yosemite region. YATI employs changeable message signs, highway advisory radio (HAR), electronic interactive kiosks, and a sit of the World Wide Web. The evaluation assesses the following: 1) user response to YATI, 2) attainment of YATI's congestion reduction, mobility enhancement, and tourism promotion and preservation goals, 3) institutional issues in the formation and function of YATI, and 4) technical systems performance.
