JAPAN'S DRIVE TO THE FUTURE

This article describes how Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technology has been able to achieve early implementation in Japan as a result of the coordianted efforts between Japan's government, industry and academia. In points out how the Japanese government encourages development efforts by establishing stable policy, investment and legislative frameworks within which industry is then interested in investing in future products.
