HIGHWAY TRAFFIC : OPTIMISATION BY MEANS OF VARIABLE SPEED SIGNALS
This paper presents a macroscopic model which allows for the analysis of traffic behavior and the effect of variable speed signals on traffic. Speed signals are activated from a traffic supervisor based on an extended Kalman filter. Simulation results show how the effects of traffic congestion can be prevented and reduced. IN ITALIAN
