THE NEED FOR SURVEILLANCE IN INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS. PART TWO
This article is a continuation of a previous article (see PATH Database reference no. 11197) in which the author examined the the need for traffic surveillance and the parameters that need to be detected. In this article, he identifies one additional parameter vehicle class category, and discusses how some of the traffic related parameters can be measured. He gives an overview of some innovative ways that have been devised by PATH researchers to accurately measure travel time.
