The NETCELL simulation package: Technical description

This report describes NETCELL, a freeway network simulation program based on the cell transmission model. NETCELL captures the dynamic evolution of a multicommodity traffic over a freeway network with three-legged junctions. The report discusses implementation of the programs, cell representation for a freeway network, data and file structures, input and output, and some key algorithms that were developed to model traffic progress in junctions.
