A NEW CONCEPT FOR VEHICLE LOCALIZATION OF ROAD DEBITING SYSTEM

This paper proposes a new vehicle localization concept for plural vehicles passing in parallel through a communication zone as part of an automatic road debiting system. Using a RD-ID tag, the system localizes the individual vehicles passing by adding receive-only antennas which tap the communication from the transponder to the interrogator. The enforcement system is composed of the localization system, a CCD camera and a vehicle detector.
