JAPANESE BASE SYSTEMS ON AMERICAN SATELLITES
This article looks into how Japan's navigation systems are built on the U. S. Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites. It also describes the Vehicle Information Communication System (VICS) which was launched in May in Japan. VICS broadcasts real-time information on road conditions and other matters, thus increasing the diffusion of the navigation system.
