MINIATURIZED, MULTI-BEAM, SOLID-STATE SCANNING LASER RADAR IN AUTOMOBILE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SENSOR SYSTEMS

The focus of this paper is on laser radar used in automobile collision avoidance sensor systems. The paper describes two distinct types of sensors that utilize a unique multibeam approach to detect targets that are potential hazards. They also provide range and range rate data to automobile control and traffic management systems.
