INTELLIGENT CONTROL FOR AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS
This paper explores the construction of of intelligent autonomous systems by using both intelligent and conventional control concepts. Examples of the latter include adaptive control, fuzzy learning control, knowledge- based control, neural network-based control and genetic algorithms. Each may be used either in the execution layer coordination layer or management layer of the autonomous system. An application of this approach to intelligent vehicle-highway systems is also explored.
