TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS FOR THE TRANSMISSION OF THE GSM SIGNALS IN CONFINED AREAS
This paper explores the feasibility of expanding the coverage of radio frequency systems to confined areas. The system considered is the GSM ( Global System for Mobile telecommunications) which works into the 900 MHz frequency band. The paper considers the electromagnetic problems involved and gives elements to choose a radiating system among three different technologies: antennae, leaky feeders, and mode converters.
