SKINFASKE, SERVICE INTEGRATED RADIO SYSTEM FOR ROAD TRAFFIC
This paper describes the initial stages of a study in mobile telematics. The system under study will serve as a carrier of mobile services in confined areas, where conventional cellular deployment fails to provide adequate coverage. The system will also provide enhanced opportunities for distribution of local traffic information and accurate location determination and updating. The motivation behind developing the system is given, followed by a description of the system itself and the design criteria.
