BEACON COMMUNICATION EXPERIMENTS
Describes the results of experiments employing radio beacons for highway communication purposes. Gives system outline, beacon technical requirements, in-vehicle receiver technical requirements and outline of the propagation characteristics measurements. Results of the experiments are given, followed by installation guidelines. These experiments will lead to the development of the Vehicle Information & Communication System ( VICS) in Japan.
